Remove A Blog Image From Google Search

To remove an image from Google's image index, add a robots.txt file to the root of the server that blocks the image. For example, if you want Google to exclude the dogs.jpg image that appears on your site at www.yoursite.com/images/dogs.jpg, add the following to your robots.txt file: User-agent: Googlebot-Image Disallow: /images/dogs.jpg To remove all the images on your site from our index, place the following robots.txt file in your server root: User-agent: Googlebot-Image Disallow: / Additionally, Google has introduced increased flexibility to the robots.txt file standard through the use asterisks. Disallow patterns may include "*" to match any sequence of characters, and patterns may end in "$" to indicate the end of a name. To remove all files of a specific file type (for example, to include .jpg but not .gif images), you'd use the following robots.txt entry: User-agent: Googlebot-Image Disallow: /*.gif$ By specifying Googlebot-Image as the User-agent,...

About The Author

Hafis Ismail [Founder & Author ] Hafis , An engineering student who has a special interest in the web and technology. He started blogging in 2009 just as a  time pass hobby, those blogs had no targets or goals. In fact, I may be the only one who was visiting those blogs :). But after reading many inspirational articles written by various successful bloggers based in India, I decided to create a professional blog, that's how I got the idea of creating 1001-Tricks  blog. In the beginning, I used to copy articles from other blogs and paste them into my blog :). But soon I realized that copying content is such a waste of time and it won't benefit my blog in any way. From that point, I tried to write original articles by collecting information from various technology related blogs. But at that time also, I was making too many mistakes while blogging. Whenever somebody asks about me, I always tell them that I have learned from my mistake. Still, I'm not a per...

IP Explained

IP ADDRESS STRUCTURE: Note: the terms multicast address and MSB are explained at the end. Every station on a PSN (packet switched network) that is based on the TCP/IP protocol (your computer is one, for example. Yes, we're referring to a host that is connected to the net) must have an IP address, so it can be identified, and information can be relayed and routed to it in an orderly fashion. An IP address consists of a 32 bit logical address. The address is divided into two fields: 1) The network address: Assigned by InterNIC (Internet Network Information Center). In fact most ISPs (internet service providers) purchase a number of addresses and assign them individually. 2) The host address: An address that identifies the single nodes throughout the network. It can be assigned by the network manager, by using protocols for it such as DHCP, or the workstation itself. [The IP networking protocol is a logically routed protocol, meaning that address 192.43.54.2 will be on the same physic...

Rename Multiple Files In XP

XP lets you rename files in bulk by simply selecting multiple files within Windows Explorer and pressing the F2 key. When you use this feature, the OS applies the name you enter to the first file and applies the same name with a number in parentheses to the other files you selected (the file extensions remain unchanged). For example, if you select the following files, * notes.doc * figures.xls * disney.jpg * holiday.gif and rename the first file (notes.doc) to SoD.doc, XP renames the remaining files as follows: * SoD (1).xls * SoD (2).jpg * SoD(3).gif

DirectX explained

Ever wondered just what that enigmatic name means? Gaming and multimedia applications are some of the most satisfying programs you can get for your PC, but getting them to run properly isn’t always as easy as it could be. First, the PC architecture was never designed as a gaming platform. Second, the wide-ranging nature of the PC means that one person’s machine can be different from another. While games consoles all contain the same hardware, PCs don’t: the massive range of difference can make gaming a headache. To alleviate as much of the pain as possible, Microsoft needed to introduce a common standard which all games and multimedia applications could follow – a common interface between the OS and whatever hardware is installed in the PC, if you like. This common interface is DirectX, something which can be the source of much confusion. DirectX is an interface designed to make certain programming tasks much easier, for both the game developer and the rest of us who just want to sit d...

One-Click Shutdown & Reboot Shortcuts

First, create a shortcut on your desktop by right-clicking on the desktop, choosing New, and then choosing Shortcut. The Create Shortcut Wizard appears. In the box asking for the location of the shortcut, type shutdown. After you create the shortcut, double-clicking on it will shut down your PC. But you can do much more with a shutdown shortcut than merely shut down your PC. You can add any combination of several switches to do extra duty, like this: shutdown -r -t 01 -c "Rebooting your PC" Double-clicking on that shortcut will reboot your PC after a one-second delay and display the message "Rebooting your PC." The shutdown command includes a variety of switches you can use to customize it. Table 1-3 lists all of them and describes their use. I use this technique to create two shutdown shortcuts on my desktop—one for turning off my PC, and one for rebooting. Here are the ones I use: shutdown -s -t 03 -c "Bye Bye m8!" shutdown -r -t 03 -c "Ill be back ...

Change The Default Location For Installing Softwares

As the size of hard drives increase, more people are using partitions to separate and store groups of files. XP uses the C:\Program Files directory as the default base directory into which new programs are installed. However, you can change the default installation drive and/ or directory by using a Registry hack. Go to :- - Start > Run - Type “regedit” (without “” NOOBS!) - Go to this directory… HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion - Look for the value named ProgramFilesDir. by default, this value will be C:\Program Files. Edit the value to any valid drive or folder and XP will use that new location as the default installation directory for new programs.

Change The Default Location Of " My Documents " Folder

I just found out about this today, and I use Windows XP for some time now, so i guess there are others out there who don't know about this yet. But normally windows saves the "My Documents" folder on your C-drive. But when you right-click on it and go to properties, you can change the location where you want windows to save your Documents folder. I have a partition set up with just windows on it, and all my things i want to keep are on different partitions/disks. So now I put My Documents on another partition than where I have windows installed. If windows screws up and you have to format your C-drive again, your documents will be spared at least...

Use Your Pendrive As Ram ( Vista )

You must have heard of this option in Windows Vista. It's that the USB flash drive can be used to increase the capacity of RAM. It will help to boost the performance of the system. You can not only use your Pen drive but also any types of memory cards or memory sticks that you got with your mobile phones, digital cameras or any other devices. This option of making the external memory device works as RAM is called ‘ReadyBoost’. Caution: - The device can only be used with ReadyBoost if it qualifies the data transfer speed test; means if the data transfer speed of the device is lower than that is recommended by Readyboost, then it cannot be used as RAM. It is written in the product description of some of the Pen Drives that whether the particular pen drive is compatible with Readyboost or not. So you can check it before buying one. Benefits of ReadyBoost :- - If your system has low RAM, resulting a slowdown in the performance, Readyboost will work for you. - RAM is much more co...

Change Text On XP Start Button

Step 1 - Modify Explorer.exe File In order to make the changes, the file explorer.exe located at C:\Windows needs to be edited. Since explorer.exe is a binary file it requires a special editor. It incorporates an internal resource script compiler and decompiler and works on Microsoft Windows 95/98/ME, Windows NT, Windows 2000 and Windows XP operating systems. get this from h**p://delphi.icm.edu.pl/ftp/tools/ResHack.zip The first step is to make a backup copy of the file explorer.exe located at C:\Windows\explorer. Place it in a folder somewhere on your hard drive where it will be safe. Start Resource Hacker and open explorer.exe located at C:\Windows\explorer.exe. The category we are going to be using is "String Table". Expand it by clicking the plus sign then navig...

RATS

What? Rats? Those pesky black things that always cause damage in the house. Very cute to look still very destructive all the same. This is supposed to be a site on Internet Security not household and pest management. So why all this here? Put your thoughts aside for a while and let me continue. I am not talking about the above rats. This is in continuation on what the uninitiated call as Trojans which I had hinted upon in my earlier article and what the refined call as Remote Administrative Tools or RATS. Trojans can be very destructive if you're not careful. So tighten your seat belts as we gear up for take-off. To define Trojans, we refresh our knowledge of a virus. A virus is a self-replicating piece of code designed to cause damage or irritation. Trojans assume much greater risk proportions. As the name RATS suggest, they allow a remote user to operate your PC sitting thousands of miles away via the Internet. Surprised? No need to be. The Internet today imparts such power that...

Bluetooth

Well to begin with, Bluetooth is a new technology named after the 10th century Danish king Harald Bluetooth Blatand who ruled part of Scandinavia in 960 AD .He helped unite his part of the world. As the name implies that Bluetooth would be the technology to unite the mobile world. Bluetooth device is the revolutionary device launched by L.M Ericsson, to integrate its phone with all Internet enabled devices. Two L.M Ericsson telephone employees, the Swedish born Sve Mattison and his Dutch colleague, Jaap Haartsen, originally designed Bluetooth technology in 1994. The term Bluetooth refers to an open specification governed by the Bluetooth special interest group (SIG) for wireless personal area networks (PANs). This technology provides a way to connect and exchange information between devices like personal digital assistants (PDAs), mobile phones, laptops, PCs, printers and digital cameras via a secure, low cost, globally available short-range radio frequency. Lets look at some examples ...

Computer Network – Basics

An internet work is a collection of individual networks, connected by intermediate networking devices, that functions as a single large network. The networking devices are the vital tools for communication. Whenever you have a set of computers or networking devices to be connected, you make the connections, depending on the physical layout and your requirements Depending on the physical layout or topology of the network, there are three types of networks. LAN LAN stands for Local Area Network. These networks evolved around the PC revolution. LANs enabled multiple users in a relatively small geographical area to exchange files and messages, as well as access shared resources such as file servers. WAN WAN stands for Wide Area Network. The interconnection of various LAN’s through telephone network, which unites geographically distributed users is achieved through WAN. In short when we log on to the internet, we become a part of a WAN. MAN MAN stands for Metropolitan Area Network. It is u...

Backtracking EMAIL Messages

Tracking email back to its source: Twisted Evil cause i hate spammers... Evil or Very Mad Ask most people how they determine who sent them an email message and the response is almost universally, "By the From line." Unfortunately this symptomatic of the current confusion among internet users as to where particular messages come from and who is spreading spam and viruses. The "From" header is little more than a courtesy to the person receiving the message. People spreading spam and viruses are rarely courteous. In short, if there is any question about where a particular email message came from the safe bet is to assume the "From" header is forged. So how do you determine where a message actually came from? You have to understand how email messages are put together in order to backtrack an email message. SMTP is a text based protocol for transferring messages across the internet. A series of headers are placed in front of the data portion of the message. By ...
